Notables: Inside the box scores and record books

The last quarterback to throw six touchdown passes and lose was Dan Marino of the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 21, 1986, against the New York Jets. Since 1960, three games have seen both quarterbacks throw five or more touchdown passes:

» Sunday:Carson Palmer, Cincinnati Bengals, threw six touchdown passes and Derek Anderson, Cleveland Browns, threw five, in the Browns' 51-45 victory.
» Nov. 2, 1969: Billy Kilmer, New Orleans Saints, and Charley Johnson, St. Louis Cardinals, each threw six touchdown passes in a game won by the Saints, 51-42.
» Dec. 22, 1963: George Blanda, Houston Oilers, threw five touchdown passes and Tom Flores, Oakland Raiders, threw six in a game won by the Raiders, 52-49.
