Niners CB Nate Clements broke up a pass intended for Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the end zone on fourth-and-10 with only 2:17 to play. San Francisco took over on downs and melted away the majority of the clock, giving Seattle the ball back with only 23 seconds remaining.

Game ball
Frank Gore ran for 207 yards on only 16 carries and displayed a tremendous burst on a pair of long touchdowns. After rushing 79 yards for a first-quarter score, Gore took the opening handoff of the second half and sprinted 80 yards for a touchdown.

Led by Gore, San Francisco dominated on the ground, outrushing Seattle 256-66. That edge in the running game also allowed the 49ers to dominate time of possession as they had the ball for 9 minutes more than the Seahawks.
