NFL Research spotlights the best nuggets from each slate of games. Here are the most eye-popping statistical accomplishments from Week 15 of the 2025 season.
1) Josh Allen continues to join elite company
The Bills were on the verge of their AFC East title streak snapping after falling behind, 21-0, on the road in Foxborough in Week 15. A Patriots victory would have clinched the division for New England for the first time since 2019. The Patriots will have to wait for another opportunity to clinch the division.
Buffalo started Sunday with three consecutive drives ending in punts before reigning MVP and father-to-be Josh Allen led the Bills on five consecutive touchdown drives. Allen finished the game with three passing touchdowns and is now tied with Matthew Stafford for the most offensive touchdowns in the NFL in 2025 (37).
Allen has accounted for at least 35 touchdowns in six career seasons, joining Tom Brady (seven such seasons), Aaron Rodgers (7) and Drew Brees (6) as the only players in NFL history with at least six seasons of 35-plus offensive touchdowns.
The comeback in Week 15 was the 86th win in Allen's career, tied with Brady and Russell Wilson for the second-most wins by a quarterback in their first eight seasons all time. Only Patrick Mahomes (89) has more -- and Allen has a chance to tie that mark if he starts and wins each of the Bills' three remaining games.
And now for some Allen singularity: 2025 is the third season in his career with at least 25 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns. No other player in NFL history has a single season with 25 pass touchdowns and 12 rush touchdowns.
2) Lawrence makes QB history with classic performance
The Jaguars have won five games in a row and six of seven since their bye week, putting them firmly atop the AFC South. Jacksonville has scored at least 25 points in a team-record seven consecutive games, including 48 in Sunday's Week 15 win over the New York Jets.
Trevor Lawrence was the star on Sunday, throwing for 330 yards and five touchdowns and leading the team with 51 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Lawrence became the first player in NFL history with at least five passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and 50 rushing yards in a single game.
Bumping the criteria down to just four passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and 50 rushing yards in a game, the list in the last 20 seasons is Lawrence, Lamar Jackson, and Michael Vick.
The Jaguars' leading receiver in Week 15 was running back Travis Etienne, who had 73 yards and three touchdowns on just three receptions. Etienne is just the third player in the last 40 seasons with at least 10 rushing attempts, 70 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns in a game -- joining Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk and Brian Westbrook.
3) Nix joins Manning, Elway in historic winning streak
The Broncos trailed the Packers 23-14 in the third quarter in Week 15 -- in other words Denver had Green Bay right where it wanted them. Bo Nix and Co. led another late-game comeback, outscoring the Packers 20-3 in the final 28 minutes of the game to secure a 34-26 win, their 11th in a row.
Nix tied Hall of Famers Peyton Manning (2012) and John Elway (1998) for the longest winning streak in a season by a Broncos quarterback all-time (Denver has won 11 straight). Week 15's victory clinched a playoff berth for the Broncos for the second consecutive year (Denver went eight seasons without a playoff berth from 2016-2023 prior to drafting Nix).
The second-year quarterback finished with 302 pass yards and 4 pass touchdowns, the third game in his career with at least 300 pass yards and 4 pass touchdowns in a win. Nix is one of three quarterbacks all-time to have three wins reaching those marks within his first two seasons, joining Patrick Mahomes (4 such wins) and Hall of Famer Dan Marino (3).
Nix, who now has 22 wins, 7,031 pass yards, and 52 pass touchdowns in his career, joined Marino as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with at least 20 wins, 7,000 pass yards, and 50 pass touchdowns in his first two career seasons.
4) Patriots rookie joins elite RB duo
Albeit in a loss, Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson put on a show with a pair of long touchdown runs in Week 15. The 2025 second-round pick out of Ohio State scored on runs of 52 and 65 yards in Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills. Henderson now has four career touchdown runs of at least 50 yards, tied with Saquon Barkley (2018) and Hall of Famer Lenny Moore (1956) for the most rush touchdowns of 50-plus yards by a rookie all-time.
Henderson's 50-yarders have come in just two games (Week 15 against the Bills and Week 10 against the Buccaneers). Henderson is already tied for the most games with multiple 50-yard touchdown runs in NFL history -- not just by a rookie, not just in a single season, but in an entire career. Barkley and Chris Johnson are the only other players in league history with multiple games of multiple 50-plus yard touchdown runs.
