NFL fines Packers LB Zombo $7,500 for hit on Bears' Cutler

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers linebacker Frank Zombo said Thursday that the NFL fined him $7,500 for his Monday night hit on Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

Zombo was penalized for roughing the passer after making contact with Cutler's helmet on the hit during the fourth quarter of a loss to the Bears. The penalty wiped out an interception by Packers linebacker Nick Barnett and helped the Bears drive for a tying field goal.

Zombo said he didn't disagree with the penalty, which he said was the result of aggressive play. Zombo is expected to start Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.

As for the fine, he said, "It's going to hurt."

Zombo is an undrafted rookie making $320,000 this season.
