Newton's 13th rushing TD sets new QB record

Carolina Panthers rookie Cam Newton has run for three touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, breaking the NFL single-season record for rushing TDs by a quarterback.

The 2010 Heisman Trophy winner scored his 11th, 12th and 13th TDs of the season on three 1-yard runs, the third giving the Panthers a 38-12 lead in the fourth quarter.

Steve Grogan set the league mark with 12 in 1976.

Newton also threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to wideout Legedu Naanee in the third quarter.
