New Orleans Saints put Kyle Wilson on injured reserve

The New Orleans Saints have taken a hit to their defensive depth.

The Saints placed cornerback and former first-round pick Kyle Wilson on the reserved / injury list Friday. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Wilson suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder.

Wilson started four of the 15 games he played in with the Saints last season, tallying 27 tackles and an interception. Selected 29th overall by the New York Jets in the 2010 NFL Draft, Wilson played four seasons in Gotham -- his best season coming in 2012 when he started 15 games.

The Saints signed defensive tackle C.J. Wilson to take over Kyle Wilson's spot on the roster.
