New Lions offensive coordinator Linehan not ready to pick a starting QB

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan says there is no front-runner yet for the starting quarterback position.

Linehan spoke to reporters Wednesday, five days after he was hired by new Lions head coach Jim Schwartz.

Linehan was offensive coordinator in Minnesota when Daunte Culpepper played there. But the Detroit Free Press and Booth Newspapers report that Linehan said his history with Culpepper doesn't give him an edge over Jon Kitna or Drew Stanton.

Linehan said he would be comfortable naming a starter after preseason play.
