The Philadelphia Eagles might be forced to make changes after closing out a disappointing season with Sunday's 34-10 win against the Washington Redskins. But offensive line coach Howard Mudd wants to return, if Andy Reid will have him.
Mudd announced after Sunday's game that he intends to coach next year, which would be his 39th in the NFL.
"I didn't know the cat was out of the bag," Eagles tackle Todd Herremans said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I like Howard. I like his methods. He's a good personality on the team. I'm excited for him to come back because I think we can just get better and better."
The Eagles offensive line allowed 32 sacks in 2011 -- down from 49 in 2010 -- and paved the way for LeSean McCoy to rush for 1,309 yards.
Mudd was hired last season after retiring in 2009 with the Indianapolis Colts. Reid said his arrival allowed the team to move Juan Castillo from offensive line coach to defensive coordinator this season.
