Moreno likely to split carries with McGahee vs. Packers

Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno was a full participant during Thursday's practice, but the oft-injured back isn't quite ready to resume his starting role.

The Denver Post reported Moreno is expected to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, however, Willis McGahee will be the starter. Moreno hurt his hamstring during the Broncos' season-opening loss to the Oakland Raiders and has been a non-impact since the injury. The Post reported Moreno should split carriers with McGahee in Green Bay if he continues to show he's capable of handling the load.

The Broncos certainly would welcome the return of their No. 1 back. Despite the installment of coach John Fox's run-oriented offense, Denver has totaled only 228 yards on the ground this year, good for fifth worst in the NFL.

Linebacker D.J. Williams also is expected to play against the Packers in what would be his first action of the season since he dislocated his elbow during the preseason. The Post reported that should Williams start, Wesley Woodyard would likely head back to the bench.
