Matt Hasselbeck is retiring from football after 17 seasons, but he won't be out of the spotlight for long.
Hasselbeck revealed his retirement Wednesday in conjunction with an announcement that he will be joining his brother Tim as an analyst at ESPN. Hasselbeck was always an entertaining interview as a player, and famously made news around a microphone as a member of the Seattle Seahawks before a playoff overtime game when he told America, "We'll take the ball and we're going to score."
Hasselbeck used his mobility, accuracy and ability to improvise to lead Mike Holmgren's West Coast offense to a lot of points along with Shaun Alexander, Walter Jones, Darrell Jackson and Koren Robinson. With six playoff appearances, including five in a row, Hasselbeck was one of the best quarterbacks of the "Aughts" not to win a title.
