Luke Kuechly (concussion) ruled out against Chargers

Luke Kuechly's return to the field has been put on hold.

The Panthers linebacker has been downgraded from questionable to out against the Chargers on Sunday and remains in the concussion protocol.

Coach Ron Rivera said Friday that Kuechly would be "good to go" as long as he passed the final test of the protocol. Kuechly has been sidelined since suffering the concussion in Week 11, but returned to practice this week in a limited capacity. This will be the second straight year that the linebacker has missed at least three games due to a concussion.

Meanwhile, safety Kurt Coleman and cornerback Daryl Worley, who were both in the protocol and listed as questionable, were cleared to play.
