Louisiana legislature opts to drop controversial workers' comp bill

ESPN reported a workers' compensation bill in the Louisiana legislature that sparked a battle between Saints ownership and the NFL Players Association has been pulled for the current session.

The Baton Rouge Advocate reported that all work on the bill halted after dozens of NFL players arrived in the state Capitol through the rain to protest the bill led by New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees.

The Times-Picayune talked to NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith, who gave credit to the players for killing the bill.
