Lions sign reliable guard Sims to four-year extension

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have offensive guard Rob Sims under contract for four more seasons.

The team announced the signing Friday, but didn't reveal financial terms.

Sims has started all four games for the winless Lions this season. He started 30 games the previous two years for the Seattle Seahawks.

Detroit acquired Sims from Seattle in April for defensive end Robert Henderson and for an exchange of lower-round draft picks. Sims was the Seahawks' fourth-round pick in the 2006 draft.

The Lions hosts the St. Louis Rams on Sunday and are three-point favorites to win and snap a 10-game skid dating to last November.
