Lions sign Boiman in order to fortify linebacking corps

The Detroit Lions signed linebacker Rocky Boiman on Monday, according to a league source.

Boiman, 30, started his career in 2002 with the Tennessee Titans and has made stops in Indianapolis, Kansas City and Pittsburgh. He won a Super Bowl ring with the Colts in 2007.

Boiman will bolster a linebacking corps that has been decimated by injury. Jordon Dizon was placed on injured reserve earlier this month, while DeAndre Levy has battled back and groin injuries.
