Lawyer: UNC defender McAdoo eligible for supplemental draft

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- An attorney for former North Carolina defensive end Michael McAdoo says his client has been declared eligible for the NFL supplemental draft.

Noah Huffstetler, McAdoo's attorney, said Friday the NFL has approved McAdoo's request to be considered for Wednesday's supplemental draft, which allows qualified underclassmen who didn't request early entry into the regular draft to have a chance to enter the league.

The NCAA declared McAdoo permanently ineligible for academic misconduct. McAdoo filed a lawsuit in July against the NCAA and the school, though a judge denied his request to be reinstated for his senior season with the Tar Heels.

The 6-foot-7, 245-pound McAdoo had 3½ sacks as a rotation player in his two seasons.
