Giants tight end Larry Donnell was a passenger on the Delta flight that skidded off the runway and crashed into a fence at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Thursday morning.
News of this comes from Donnell himself, who posted a photo and video to his Instagram account as passengers were being evacuated on the snowy tarmac.
"Look at this s---!" Donnell wrote in the video caption. "Knew I shoulda stayed my ass at home"
Donnell's agent, Tamika Cheatham, said that the tight end was uninjured in the incident, according to NJ.com. The Associated Press reported that the in-bound flight from Atlanta skidded off the runway around 11:10 a.m. ET and lost a wing before the nose of the plane crashed through a chain-link fence.
Donnell later released the following statement:
"I'm blessed to be safe and sound after our plane skidded off the runway at LaGuardia airport today. I feel fine physically and hopefully all the other passengers did not have any significant injuries. We were all shocked and alarmed when the plane started to skid, but most importantly, as far as I know, all of the passengers and flight crew were able to exit the plane safely."
Tom Rock of Newsday reported that Donnell was flying to New York to sign his tender with the Giants. The tight end is coming off a breakout season in which he finished with 63 receptions for 623 yards and six touchdowns. We'll let you know if he decides to drive to training camp.
