FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Officials in the Massachusetts town of Foxborough have withdrawn a proposal that would have taken by eminent domain land owned by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft in a dispute over two billboards.
The move made at Tuesday's Board of Selectmen meeting came after a federal judge ordered the town to allow a Kraft representative to address the board in response to a federal lawsuit filed Monday in which The Kraft Group alleged constitutional violations for not being allowed to speak at prior meetings.
The Kraft Group has managed the billboards and split revenue with the town. The town wants to put the management contract out to bid. Kraft says the town lacks the authority to do so.
A Kraft Group representative says the company wants to move beyond the dispute.
