Jordan returning to Eagles after signing one-year tender

PHILADELPHIA -- Restricted free-agent linebacker Akeem Jordan will return to the Eagles next season after signing a one-year tender offer.

Jordan started 10 games for the Eagles last season, recording 71 tackles and two interceptions. He took a role on the starting defense midway through the 2008 season and held it until being sidelined for four weeks with a knee injury last season.

Jordan is likely to resume his role as the Eagles' starting weakside linebacker following the release of Will Witherspoon.

Jordan joined the Eagles as a rookie free agent out of James Madison in 2007.
