Thursday's health and safety news from the world of football:

  • Speaking during a concussion conference in Palo Alto, California, former NFL running back said it would be detrimental to limit contact in youth football, according to the Stanford Daily.
  • The Chicago Sun-Times published an editorial calling for the Illinois High School Association to mandate more precautions on concussions during football games.
  • NorthJersey.com reported that former NFL players Bart Oates and Bruce Harper will be part of a concussion panel next week at an area hospital.
