ATLANTA -- Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez is the 21st player in NFL history to reach 11,000 receiving yards in his career.

Gonzalez, playing in his first game with Atlanta, reached the milestone Sunday with a 20-yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter of a 19-7 season-opening victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Gonzalez, a 10-time Pro Bowler with the Kansas City Chiefs, began the day with 10,940 receiving yards, a record for NFL tight ends. The touchdown catch was the 77th of his career, also a record for tight ends.
