Jets lose top pass rusher Thomas for rest of season

The New York Jets lost their second player in as many weeks to an Achilles injury when it was announced Monday that outside linebacker Bryan Thomas will miss the rest of the season because of a torn Achilles.

The Jets have not yet put Thomas, who sustained the injury during the Jets' 34-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, on injured reserve.

Thomas, who had 14 tackles through the first three games of the season, went down during the first quarter of Sunday's game and did not return. Thomas led the Jets with six sacks last season and has been a starter since the 2006 season.

Thomas was on crutches when he left the visiting locker room Sunday night in Baltimore, the Newark Star-Ledger reported.
