Jets DE Ellis injures left hand but returns vs. Chargers

New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis left Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game against the San Diego Chargers with a left hand injury, but he returned later in the first quarter.

Ellis apparently was hurt during the Chargers' first offensive series. When he returned, his left hand was heavily bandaged.

Ellis has been nursing a knee injury. He had 53 tackles and 6.5 sacks this season. He had six tackles and one sack in the Jets' opening-round playoff victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
