Jets center Mangold fine after injury scare in practice

New York Jets center Nick Mangold is fine after leaving Thursday's practice with what was later described as a stinger, *The Star-Ledger* reported.

Mangold departed Thursday's practice after he was down on both hands and knees for several minutes following a goal-line drill. According to The Star-Ledger, X-rays were taken but came up clean, and the Jets consider Mangold day to day.

Shonn Greene took a handoff and went over the pile when Mangold went down with several other linemen blocking. As the players got up from the pile, Mangold remained down as trainers rushed over to him, along with coach Rex Ryan. Several concerned teammates, uncertain about what happened, came over while Mangold was being examined.

After about four minutes, Mangold got up slowly and gingerly walked to the locker room under his own power as fans cheered.

Mangold didn't return to practice, and Rob Turner took over at center with the first-team offense.
