Jerry Jones: Tony Romo made most of Cowboys' bye

The Dallas Cowboys couldn't have asked for better timing for their bye week. Their Week 11 respite allowed quarterback Tony Romo some much-needed downtime to further recover from two small fractures in his lower back.

Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said the time off has made a difference.

"I think it's really beneficial, and he knows how to use it," Jones said Tuesday on KRLD-FM (via The Dallas Morning News). "I think by the time we kick off Sunday, he will have maximized this break for himself and for us.

"I was really pleased he had the outing he had in London. It certainly showed that with a couple more weeks of just simple letting it rest, if no other thing, then he'll be in better shape in that particular area of his back."

Romo wasn't moving well two Sundays ago against the Jaguars, but he produced like a star. The quarterback threw three touchdowns and finished with a passer rating of 138.8. A healthier version of the same player counts as bad news for the Giants, Romo's Week 12opponent.
