Jarvis Jones activated from Steelers' IR-recall list

The Pittsburgh Steelers' defense is adding fresh legs for the stretch run.

Second-year linebacker Jarvis Jones was activated from injured reserve/designated for return on Saturday after missing nine games with a fractured bone in his wrist.

With veteran James Harrison's (knee) status in doubt, Jones will likely team with Arthur Moats opposite Jason Worilds at Cincinnati on Sunday.

Jones isn't the only recent first-round draft pick expected to rejoin the lineup. Rookie Ryan Shazier is probable to play after missing the last three games with a wrist injury.

The news is not all good for Dick LeBeau's defense.

Although Cortez Allen was also listed as "probable" to play versus the Bengals, the cornerback was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Saturday.

Allen was struggling through a disappointing season after signing a lucrative contract extension in September. In a thin secondary, though, he had still played the second-most snaps among Steelers cornerbacks.
