Oden was an assistant defensive backs coach with the New Orleans Saints for five seasons before being promoted to secondary coach last season. He has a relationship with Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, which likely helped him land the job.

Also Thursday, the Jaguars named former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Olson assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach. Olson just completed his 11th season in the NFL and his seventh as an offensive coordinator.

NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported the Jaguars have offered Sylvester Croom their running backs coach job, according to a league source, and he will take it.

The Jaguars still have several openings, including one for special teams coordinator, as well as several offensive positions. They interviewed Ron Zook for special teams coordinator Wednesday.

Already on staff are Tucker, offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski, linebackers coach Mark Duffner, defensive line coach Joe Cullen, assistant defensive line coach Paul Spicer, assistant defensive backs coach Marlon McCree, defensive assistant Brandon Blaney and assistant special teams coach Craig Aukerman.
