Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard downplayed an injury to the fingers on his throwing hand in Sunday's 34-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, according to *The Florida Times-Union* on Monday.
Garrard was hit by Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney in the second half and underwent X-rays on his right hand at Lucas Oil Stadium after the game.
"I really didn't want to do (the X-rays), I knew my fingers are OK," Garrard said. "A little ice, a little treatment, (the trainers) wanted me to go with them to make sure."
Garrard told The Times-Union that his injured hamstring never presented a problem against the Colts.
"I knew after Friday how good it was feeling, it probably wouldn't be an issue," Garrard said. "So it felt great all day. I didn't feel it grab one time."
Garrard was 24 of 38 for 294 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He become the Jaguars' single-season leader in touchdown passes with 22. Mark Brunell threw for 20 touchdowns in 1998 and 2000.
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew, held to 46 yards on 15 carries, told the newspaper that his knee wasn't the reason behind a string of offensive plays he missed against the Colts.Â
Jones-Drew missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday last week with a knee ailment.
