Injuries: LeSean McCoy's status up in the air for 'TNF'

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was dinged up in Sunday's win, but insisted after the game he'd be "fine" to play in Thursday Night Football versus the New York Jets, shown exclusively on NFL Network.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reports on Tuesday that McCoy has a shoulder strain, but didn't need an MRI. Breer added that Shady's status is still up in the air, despite the back's optimism.

"I believe he'll play," head coach Rex Ryan said Tuesday. "How significant his role will be, I'm not sure."

Facing a Jets team ranked No. 1 against the run, the Bills need a healthy McCoy to pull the road upset Thursday in Ryan's return to MetLife Stadium. If McCoy can't play, expect Karlos Williams to carry the load.

McCoy compiled 16 rushes for 112 yards in Week 9 before leaving the game in the second half. He's missed two games this season due to injury.

Other injuries we're tracking:

  1. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has a lacerated kidney and partial tear of an abdominal muscle and will miss 2-to-6 weeks, the team announced. Matt Hasselbeck was 2-0 in relief of Luck earlier this year and will take the reins while Luck recovers.
  1. Chargers wideout Malcom Floyd suffered a torn labrum Monday night against the Bears, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of his condition. He may try to play through it, despite that this is often a season-ending injury, Rapoport added. Floyd has said publicly this is his last season. Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune first reported the news.
  1. Jerry Jones said Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee (concussion) is "probably doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He exited Week 9's loss to the Eagles in the first half after sustaining a hit to the head during a tackle.
  1. The Jets could be short one of their top cornerbacks on Thursday. Coach Todd Bowles said he isn't optimistic Antonio Cromartie will play as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Bowles also added that he isn't optimistic right guard Willie Colon will play. The Jets should get center Nick Mangold back, returning from a neck injury.
  1. Browns quarterback Josh McCown (ribs) did not practice on Tuesday. Head coach Mike Pettine said McCown will start on Sunday versus the Steelers if he's ready to play. Cornerback Joe Haden, safety Donte Whitner, defensive lineman Armonty Bryant and offensive guard Joel Bitonio all did not practice.
  1. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (foot) told 93.7 The Fan that he won't rule himself out for Sunday's game against the Browns. Mike Tomlin said the door for Big Ben is open but "just slightly ajar." Tomlin adds the Steelers are preparing to start Landry Jones at QB on Sunday.
  1. The Vikings placed linebacker Audie Cole on injured reserve on Tuesday. Cole fractured his ankle during Sunday's overtime victory over the Rams.
  1. The Jets have placed kicker Nick Folk on injured reserve after a quad injury kept him out of last week's win. The team signed Randy Bullock as a replacement.
  1. Raiders coach Jack Del Rio had positive news on running back Latavius Murray. "Signs are all positive right now and hopefully we'll have our guy ready," Del Rio said on Sirius XM NFL Radio.
