There was fear in Philadelphia that the linebacker could be lost for the season. Now, Alonso could be back as soon as Sunday against the Jets.
"We're evaluating this week what he can and can't do. Status uncertain for Sunday," Kelly said during his news conference.
Alonso's injury is to the same knee that was surgically repaired following an ACL tear in the summer of 2014. Alonso also tore his right ACL in college and underwent hip surgery earlier in 2014.
Here are other injuries we've been tracking Wednesday:
"He is really looking good at practice," O'Brien said. "I'm not sure about this week. He will be back sooner rather than later."
Linebacker DeAndre Levy did not participate. Levy hasn't practiced since injuring his hip during the preseason.
- Darrelle Revis (groin), who's coming off a big Monday night performance, did not practice. Revis' groin is sore but it's not believed to be serious, per Rapoport.
