Minutes after Monday night's loss to the Seahawks, Washington's locker room didn't exactly have the look of a 1-4 team coming off back-to-back defeats on national television.
ESPN.com's John Keim noted after the tilt that the "Redskins' locker room was a lively place, even in defeat. There was loud chatter emanating from the shower area. There were players joking."
Despite their status as the only losing team in the NFC East, the players, per Keim, "felt good that they weren't embarrassed for a second straight prime-time game."
Asked Tuesday about his giddy roster, first-year coach Jay Gruden didn't sound thrilled.
"I don't know what the locker room was like after the game. ... I know I wasn't upbeat," Gruden said, per Mike Jones of The Washington Post. "I don't know why anybody would be upbeat."
Said Gruden: "If they were happy after the game, we have to address it. ... I know when I talked to them, they were exhausted and dejected."
It's not a good look for the one-win 'Skins. We'll opt not to make too much of this, but Washington's proud fan base -- having lost its sense of humor weeks ago -- might feel otherwise.
