Griffin signed autographs -- even on Redskins helmets -- and posed for pictures Saturday at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Va., according to the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star.

The event marked Griffin's first public appearance in the Washington, D.C., area since the Redskins traded for the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. They're expected to use the pick on Griffin, the Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday he would be happy with either Griffin or Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck as the team's draft pick.

Not everyone seems to welcome the idea of Griffin joining Washington. Former Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb said Thursday he believed Griffin was a bad fit for the team's offense.
