Giants' Umenyiora docked $12,500 in latest round of NFL fines

NEW YORK -- Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora has been fined $12,500 by the NFL for hitting Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in the head and neck during their game Monday night.

Umenyiora was flagged for roughing the passer on the play, which happened in the final minute of the Giants' 21-3 victory. Vikings cornerback Asher Allen was fined $5,000 for unnecessary roughness when he hit Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw late.

Denver Broncos defensive end Kevin Vickerson was fined $7,500 for a horse-collar tackle, and defensive back Syd'Quan Thompson was docked $5,000 for unnecessary roughness for hitting an opponent late against the Arizona Cardinals.

St. Louis Rams free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe drew a $5,000 fine for grabbing New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush by the helmet on a tackle.
