Forte, Rice headline top fantasy players of Week 5

Who was the Fantasy Player of the Week? Vote on the top performers and decide who was the most valuable player!

Matt Forte, RB, Bears

Forte has become one of the hardest players to predict in fantasy football. In Week 4, we saw the goat on Sunday night against the Giants. But this weekend against the Panthers, we saw the hero. Forte went off for 188 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in what was a 23-6 win. His scores both came in the first quarter on runs of 18 and 68 yards. While his offensive role could decrease a bit next week with Jay Cutler back under center, Forte should still be considered a nice option against the Seahawks.

Chris Johnson, RB, Titans

Johnson saw a mere 19 carries in the Titans' 34-27 win over the Cowboys, but that's all he needed to put up a monster stat line. The fantasy superstar rushed for 131 yards (that's almost seven yards per attempt) and scored two touchdowns on a pair of 1-yard runs. With five weeks in the books, Johnson is now on pace to finish with better than 1,550 yards and 19 total touchdowns based on his current numbers. He'll look to continue his statistical success next Monday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ray Rice, RB, Ravens

I think I speak for all fantasy owners who have Rice on their team when I say, "It's about time!" The Ravens runner had been a disappointment after four weeks, but he came back with a vengeance against the Broncos with 159 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. His scores came on a pair of 1-yard runs, one of which came in the second quarter and one in the fourth. This could be the start of a great run of statistical success for the Rutgers product, who faces the Patriots and Bills in his next two matchups.

Malcom Floyd, WR, Chargers

Who needs Vincent Jackson when you have Floyd? Despite fears that he would be blanketed by Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha, Floyd ripped the Silver & Black to shreds with eight catches for 213 yards and one touchdown. The score came on a 41-yard pass from Philip Rivers, who was a statistical monster in the contest as well. Floyd is now on pace to put up 70 receptions for 1,500 yards and 10 touchdowns based on his current totals. The veteran wideout is a must-start in most fantasy leagues next week against the Rams.

Brandon Lloyd, WR, Broncos

Believe it or not, but Lloyd has become a must-start wideout in fantasy leagues. (No, that's not a misprint). The journeyman has found a home with the Broncos and became an absolute stat-sheet stuffer, posting 135 yards and two touchdowns against a stout Ravens pass defense. His scores came on long passes of 42 and 44 yards from Kyle Orton, who has also become a fantasy star. Lloyd has now put up 100-plus yards in all but one of his games this season. He's also on pace for over 1,800 yards and close to 10 touchdowns.
