Felony trial postponed until after season for Jets rookie Ellis

Rookie defensive lineman Kenrick Ellis, who made his debut for the New York Jets in their Monday night victory over the Miami Dolphins, had his trial on a malicious wounding felony charge postponed from Nov. 28 until Feb. 7, 2012, two days after the Super Bowl, according to The Star-Ledger.

Ellis is a third-round pick who was arrested during his time at Hampton University. The newspaper said it was not clear why the trial was postponed until February.
