Eagles interview Bears assistant coach Hoke for DC job

The Philadelphia Eagles confirmed Monday that they have interviewed Chicago Bears defensive backs coach Jon Hoke for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

The Eagles have cast a wide net for the job. Dennis Allen (who signed with the Denver Broncos) and Dick Jauron (who left for the Cleveland Browns) were given consideration. The Eagles also could wait to talk to Super Bowl coaches such as Winston Moss (Green Bay Packers assistant) and Keith Butler (Pittsburgh Steelers assistant).

The Eagles weren't allowed to interview Todd Bowles, according to sources, although the Miami Dolphins did give the Arizona Cardinals permission to talk to the assistant coach. The Cincinnati Bengals denied the Eagles permission to speak with secondary coach Kevin Coyle, according to a source.

The Eagles fired defensive coordinator Sean McDermott after the season.
