Eagles DE Cole named to NFC Pro Bowl squad

PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles defensive end Trent Cole was added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster on Thursday in place of injured Seahawks end Patrick Kearney.

Cole, who was sixth in the NFL with 12½ sacks, had been selected as a Pro Bowl alternate. His total was the most by an Eagle since Hugh Douglas had 12½ in 2002.

A fifth-round draft pick by the Eagles in 2005, Cole recorded 103 tackles this season and earned the Eagles defensive MVP award. He is set to become the second youngest Eagles player to participate in the Pro Bowl behind Reggie White, who was 25 years, 43 days old in 1987, when he won MVP honors. Cole will be 25 years, 128 days old on game day.

Kearney withdrew from the game with a shoulder injury.
