Eagles bring in McGee to compete for punting duties

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles signed punter/kicker Richmond McGee to a three-year contract on Wednesday.

McGee handled both punting and kickoff duties during his career at Texas, which concluded in 2005. McGee averaged 39.6 yards on 130 punts, while 36 percent (96-for-265) of his career kickoffs went for touchbacks.

McGee will compete with Sav Rocca for a job as Philadelphia's punter. Kicker David Akers has handled kickoffs for the Eagles.
