Dolphins' Thomas officially ruled out for Sunday

DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game at Philadelphia.

Thomas has missed four games since suffering a concussion in September. The seven-time Pro Bowl player said earlier this week that he hopes to return this season, which has seen his Dolphins go 0-9.

Thomas missed two games in September. In October, he was involved in a car crash after a loss to the New England Patriots. He suffered whiplash and recurring migraines, and has missed Miami's last two games.

Sunday's game will be the 18th that Thomas has missed in his 12-year career.
