Dolphins give WR Bess a three-year contract extension

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Davone Bess received a three-year, $9 million contract extension, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora on Tuesday.

Some had reported the deal, signed over the weekend, was a two-year deal.

Bess is second behind Brandon Marshall on the Dolphins in receptions, with 25 for 282 yards. His two touchdown catches are tied for most on the team.

"It's great for a lot of reasons," Dolphins coach Tony Sparanotold the *South Florida Sun-Sentinel* about signing Bess. "Here's a great example of me being able to point to and saying there's a guy right there that, you're an undrafted free agent and here's a guy that we rewarded; he deserves it."
