DeSean Jackson of Philadelphia Eagles spurns Jay-Z

DeSean Jackson has "Diamonds on His Neck," and he also has a new agent, Joel Segal. The Philadelphia Eagles' wideout was thought to be close to signing with Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirmed the news after speaking with a source who has been "informed of the decision." Liz Mullen of the Sports Business Journal was the first to report it Friday.

Segal provides Jackson with a veteran negotiator who has a proven track record with NFL teams. Jackson signed a five-year, $51 million contract with the Eagles in March 2012, but the next two years of his deal, 2014 and 2015, will weigh heavily on the Eagles' team payroll.

Jackson is due a base salary of $6.75 million this season, $10.25 million in 2014 and $9.75 million in 2015. The spike in base salary in '14 and '15 might make him a candidate for a contract renegotiation.
