ESPN Dallas, not citing sources, said the Cowboys will target veteran cornerbacks Brandon Carr of the Kansas City Chiefs and Cortland Finnegan of the Tennessee Titans when free agency begins on March 13.

Carr, 25, finished last season with four interceptions and 45 tackles for the Kansas City Chiefs. The 28-year-old Finnegan, a Pro Bowl selection in 2008, had one interception and 75 tackles.

Terence Newman, Mike Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick were the Cowboys' primary cornerbacks last season. According to the report, Newman could become a salary-cap casualty and that Scandrick is viewed as a third cornerback.

Jenkins, coming off shoulder surgery, will enter the final year of his contract next season.
