Everything appears to be trending toward CeeDee Lamb making his return from injury against the Washington Commanders on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
So much so, the Dallas Cowboys receiver -- who has been out with an ankle injury since Week 3 -- told reporters on Thursday that he would have been able to play last week against the Carolina Panthers, but that the Cowboys wanted to give him additional time to make a full recovery.
"I'm out there moving around, running around, being me," said Lamb, via The Athletic's Jon Machota. "Happy as can be."
The Cowboys lost, 30-27, at Carolina, dropping their record to 2-3-1. But quarterback Dak Prescott sounded like a happy man when asked about how Lamb has looked in his bid to return to the field.
"He looks great. He's ready to go," Prescott said. It's going to be fun."
Lamb was officially listed as limited in Wednesday and Thursday's practice sessions.
When asked what he needed to see for Lamb to be ready for Sunday, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said: "If he's breathing, I'm good."
