Colts re-sign trio of veteran backups

The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to terms on contracts with defensive tackle Darrell Reid, offensive guard Dylan Gandy and tight end Bryan Fletcher. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Reid, a fourth-year veteran defensive tackle from the University of Minnesota, made the team as an undrafted free agent in 2005, started twice and played in 39 games, emerging last season as one of the Colts' top special teams players. He started one regular-season game, making 14 tackles on defense and registering a half a sack.

Reid led all Colts players with 22 special teams' tackles last season. He was selected the AFC Special Teams Player-of-the-Week following a four-tackle game against the Houston Texans on December 23.

Gandy, a fourth-year veteran offensive guard out of Texas Tech, was a fourth-round selection in the 2005 NFL Draft. He has started 14 games in three seasons, including 11 games in 2006 when starter Ryan Lilja was out with an injury.

Fletcher, a fourth-year tight end from UCLA, signed with the Colts as a free agent in 2005. He has started 18 games in three seasons, catching 54 passes for 547 yards and five touchdowns. He started 12 games in 2005, and has caught 18 passes in each of his three seasons. In this past season, Fletcher collected 143 yards receiving.
