Colts plan to interview Atlanta's Caldwell for GM position

The Falcons have granted permission for the Indianapolis Colts to interview Atlanta's director of scouting, David Caldwell, for their vacant general manager position, a league source confirmed.

Caldwell originally came to the Falcons from Indianapolis and the Colts' request for permission to interview him was expected.

The exact timing of the interview is not set, but the meeting is expected to take place following Atlanta's Wild Card Game against the New York Giants on Sunday, the source said.

Caldwell (no relation to Colts head coach Jim Caldwell) was a scout with Indianapolis for 10 years and was one of the first hires made by Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff when he was hired by Atlanta in 2007.
