KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs signed kicker Billy Cundiff to a two-year contract Monday in an attempt to resolve one of their most glaring weaknesses from last season.
Kansas City used a fifth-round supplemental pick last year to take UCLA's Justin Medlock, but gave up on him in September. The Chiefs then turned to Dave Rayner, who signed before the season after he was released by Green Bay but struggled and was released.
The Chiefs also agreed to two-year deals with five others Monday: safety Erick Harris, defensive tackle T.J. Jackson, cornerback Chad Johnson, tackle Joe Lobdell and guard Rob Smith.
