Chiefs QB Croyle won't play Sunday, Huard to start against Chargers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle will be sidelined with a bruised back Sunday at San Diego and will be replaced by veteran backup Damon Huard.

Croyle, who had started the last two games, could not practice Friday, coach Herm Edwards said.

The second-year pro, who has been tabbed as the Chiefs' quarterback of the future, bruised his lower back in the first quarter of last week's game against Oakland. He finished the game but was in discomfort.
