Chargers lose OT McNeill for two weeks after knee surgery

Chargers offensive tackle Marcus McNeill is expected to miss two weeks after undergoing surgery to remove a bone spur from his left knee, *The San Diego Union-Tribune* reported on Wednesday.

"It's one of those things if you were working through May and June," Norv Turner said Tuesday, "some of that gets out of the way earlier."

This is McNeill's second minor knee procedure of the year, according to an ESPN report.

McNeill, 27, is a valuable piece of San Diego's protection scheme, having been named to the Pro Bowl twice. Last season, he missed five regular season games while holding out for a new contract.

Brandyn Dombrowski, who filled in for McNeill during his holdout, is expected to assume first-team duties at left tackle until McNeill can return to action.
