Chargers backup center Mruczkowski has minor surgery

Chargers backup center Scott Mruczkowski, who made 13 starts in place of injured Nick Hardwick last season, had surgery to remove scar tissue from his ankle last week, *The San Diego Union-Tribune* reported Thursday.

The team expects the sixth-year pro, who rarely has practiced during training camp after having offseason ankle surgery, to be healthy for the start of the season.
