Carriker's season over after Rams place him on injured reserve

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams have placed defensive tackle Adam Carriker on injured reserve with a shoulder injury that he suffered in the preseason finale.

The Rams waived running backs Antonio Pittman and Chris Ogbonnaya and guard Roy Schuening. Rookie Keith Null won the third-string quarterback job over Brock Berlin, who was waived.

St. Louis also waived linebackers K.C. Asiodu and Dominic Douglas, defensive tackle Antwon Burton, tight end Eric Butler, defensive end Ian Campbell, offensive tackles Renardo Foster and Phil Trautwein, fullback Jerome Johnson, center Tim Mattran, cornerback Cord Parks, safety Mark Rubin and wide receiver Sean Walker.

Safety Todd Johnson and wide receivers Tim Carter and Ronald Curry had their contracts terminated.

The Rams placed defensive Eric Moore on injured reserve with a hand injury to reach the league-mandated 53-man roster limit.
