Cardinals among three teams pursuing LB Bruce Irvin

Free-agent linebacker Bruce Irvin won't be out of work for long.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in Irvin's services. Rapoport noted that the Cardinals are making a strong push for the Seattle Seahawks free agent, per two sources informed of Arizona's plans.

The three teams interested in Irvin all have vast familiarity with the outside linebacker's play. Arizona game plans for Irvin and Seattle's defense at least twice a year, while the Falcons and Jaguars both have former Seahawks defensive coordinators at the helm.

Irvin was quoted last offseason saying that he wanted to travel south to play for Dan Quinn in 2016. It will be interesting to see if former Seattle defensive coordinators Quinn or Gus Bradley win the Irvin pursuit. Though Arizona, in dire need of a consistent pass rush, could be the best fit for the outside linebacker.

The fifth-year linebacker had 38 tackles and 5.5 sacks last season with the Seahawks. His time in Seattle could be in danger of coming to a close.
